Boston Shoot XIX – Burn the House Down

Scroll down to content

Whenever I’m commuting, I tend to brainstorm ideas for photoshoots. Some ideas are more interesting than others, and some just flat out don’t work. But recently, I was listening to Burn the House Down by AJR – an upbeat song about revolting against oppression. It’s a badass song. Whenever I listen to it, I feel unstoppable. So I immediately got to thinking about how to put it in a picture.

Meet Sarah. We’ve tried to do a shoot for a long while, but our schedules never aligned. For this particular shoot I asked Sarah to exude confidence – as if they’ll burn your house down.

This arguably the last warm day of the year before winter sets in. It was a great shoot that I had a lot of fun doing, especially when I had to battle with different lighting conditions. In the end I think I was able to capture Sarah in her element.

As an aside, if you haven’t heard the song yet, I definitely recommend it. Listen to it in the morning and take on the world.
