Last August, I took this photo while exploring MIT. I didn’t have an image in mind when I took it, but inspiration hit me while I was editing it. As the viewer, you know what’s real and what is just a reflection. But I decided to challenge the perception with a simple black and white edit. In the end, the picture was really well received – so I decided to try it again.
I love this picture so much. It’s bright, colorful, symmetric and the pose is engaging. Once again, I didn’t know how great it would turn out in camera, but when looking at it the next day, I realized there was so much potential here. I did some extra black and white edits so you can compare and contrast.
Bending reality is pretty fun, even when other people don’t really see it that way.
