A few weeks ago, I got my hands on the Sigma 35mm f1.4 lens. Long time readers may recognize it as the one mentioned in this post almost a year and a half ago. Since then, I’ve gone through a lot of thinking, and thought I would treat myself before I started my third year of optometry school. So I bought it.
At first glance, you might notice that it’s about half the size of it’s big brother, the 85mm. It definitely feels half as heavy, and my arms are forever grateful. The 35 has been my latest go-to lens – so much so that I’ve retired my 50mm f1.8 and now exclusively shoot either 35mm or 85mm only. My next post will be a photo comparison between the two lenses so I can explain why I like them both.
I don’t really see a point of getting the 50 mm right now. But I might get it just to complete the trinity. Two down, one to go.
