A few weeks ago, I came across the concert photographer for Billie Eilish. He had one photo in particular that really stuck with me, so much so I wanted to try and recreate it. On my last shoot with Kari, we played around the exterior of an old church. The textures were rough and uneven – almost gritty. So we played around with some creative posing.
When trying new ideas, it helps to draw inspiration from creative people – whether it be online or from those standing right in front of the camera. They encourage you to step out of a comfort zone. I’m not comfortable with these edits, in fact I broke a few ‘editing rules’ that I’ve set for myself. But the end goal is so great, I’m compelled to break those rules.
Be different. Duh.
