On the way to the Grand Canyon, we traveled down a small leg of the iconic Route 66. The path starts in Chicago, Illinois and extends all the way to Santa Monica, California. Historically, it was a popular highway that connected eastern and western United States. Today, the actual Route 66 no longer exists, but you can still do the two week drive on the same path, just under different names.

I’m always a fan of checking out small bits of history. Or at the very least an iconic landmark. Seeing the Route 66 was a neat experience to say the least.
