When I was shooting with Kristi a while back, I was going through all of the selects and noticed a lot of greenery. When you take pictures outdoors in nature, you tend see a lot of it. But in order to make something different, I decided to change a few things with the background. I decided to hue everything in a soft magenta-red to make the vibe a little less boring.
I very recently just realized how to edit backgrounds while also maintaining the colors of my subjects. It goes beyond slapping a filter on the picture – I don’t want Kristi’s skin to be pink, just the flowers around her. It really opens up the door to a lot more possibilities: somehow making boring environments a bit more magical.
