It’s been a long while since I did one of these posts, but I figured I’d give it a shot again. You can check out my other Editing Exercises here. Anyway, on one of my off days, I took a walk around town and practiced with some long exposure shots. It didn’t really catch a lot of attention, but it was one of the hardest photo composites I ever did. Take a look:
I started with three separate pictures when traffic started to move at different times. I blended the foreground together, keeping some elements of some while removing artifacts and people in others.



The end product was nice in the foreground, but I wasn’t a fan of the plain blue sky. I photoshopped in a new night sky, blurred it to give a long exposure aesthetic, and then did your standard color adjustments, cropping etc. In the end you’re left with a composite that looks like it could have been taken in one shot.
