3.31.18 – I’ve always had a fascination with capturing motion, especially in my past attempts at photographing sports. For the most part, it’s easier said than done. With enough light and a fast enough shutter speed, you can get great photos of pretty much anything. The problem is making the photo actually look good with a constantly changing composition while also maintaining focus. So I enlisted Meagan with a longboard and gave it a try.
Long story short, as she rode around, my attempts at photographing her didn’t really work out. Some of them were out of focus while others just didn’t look great. But I had a few gems. Instead, the shoot devolved to your typical posed shots. This was also the first time I used my prism outdoors for some interesting effects. I’ve also learned a few new tricks in Photoshop. They’re subtle, but I think they really make some of these shots really stand out.
I’m so excited for what spring has to offer now that I can go out and enjoy the weather around me. I have a few more ideas in my head, it’s just up to me to make it happen.
