Portfolio – March, 2017

Everyone likes to highlight success.  Everyone’s proud of the trophy on their mantle, or the framed diploma on their wall, and for the most part, that’s all that the public sees.  They see the end result.  What people don’t see is the time and hard work that is invested to get the end product.  And to me, that is the fascinating part.  How are successful people successful?  What are they doing behind the scenes that makes them who they are?

Work

Any student knows that finals suck.  Around this time, I would try and shoot as a study break after a few hours of chapter reviews.  Because I just had my camera with me, this is one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.

In context, this was a very stressful time of the year because of a very hard final that was steadily creeping closer.  It wasn’t a good time.  Every corner of the building was covered with students looking just like this: hunched over and focused trying to focus.  I just happened to catch a good friend of mine hard at work from across the room with my 300 mm lens.

I’d learn later that she was watching a show on Netflix.
